Passengers staged a protest on the runway after missing their flight.
Having missed their flight, a couple sat on the runway at Beijing Capital International Airport to prevent planes from taking off.
According to Straitstimes, a couple booked flight CA1519 from Beijing to Shanghai (China). The flight was scheduled to depart at 9:30 AM on September 14th from Beijing Capital International Airport, but they arrived late and missed their flight.
Refusing to return, the two sat on the runway to prevent the plane from taking off, causing a 20-minute delay.

The two people claimed they missed their flight because they weren't informed of the boarding time. However, this is an unacceptable reason as the boarding and departure times were printed on the tickets and announced over the airport's public address system. Photo: Asianone. |
The couple was arrested by the police. According to Chinese law, violating runway regulations and interfering with aircraft departures can result in detention for 5 to 10 days and a fine of 500 yuan (approximately 1.6 million VND).
The identities of both individuals have not been revealed.
