Opening ceremony for the Vietnamese language training course for Lao students.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 5th, Nghe An College of Education held the opening ceremony for the 21st course of Vietnamese language training for students from the Lao People's Democratic Republic, academic year 2023-2024.
Previously, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 4098/QD-UBND dated December 11, 2023, and assigned the task to the School.Nghe An Teacher Training College150 training quotas for Vietnamese language (of which 120 quotas are for training at the school and 30 quotas are for training at Ethnic Minority Boarding High School No. 2).
The Vietnamese language course will equip international students with basic knowledge through the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, serving their professional work and specialized studies at the university level, according to the Vietnamese language proficiency framework for foreigners issued in Circular 17/2015/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The program has four levels, with tests and assessments after each section. Students are only eligible to take the final exam and receive a certificate of completion after passing all four levels.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Anh Tu, the school's principal, welcomed the new international students to study at the school starting this academic year. He also stated that in recent years, Nghe An province has paid great attention to supporting high-quality human resources for neighboring provinces in Laos. In many areas, Nghe An College of Education is honored to be selected as a unit to strengthen cooperation activities in education and training.
Over more than 20 years of operation, the school has trained over 1,600 international students in Vietnamese and has received high recognition and praise for its quality.
The successful implementation of the coursesVietnamese language trainingThe school's activities are the result of one of the comprehensive cooperation initiatives demonstrating the special, loyal, and increasingly practical and effective relationship between the people of Vietnam and Laos in general, and between the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the People's Committees of the seven provinces of Xieng Khouang, Bolikhamsai, Hua Phan, Vientiane, Savannakhet, Khammouane, and Xaysomboun in particular.
To ensure the effectiveness of the training program, the school will continue to actively innovate teaching methods to constantly improve the quality of Vietnamese language teaching and learning for international students. The goal is to achieve 100% of international students meeting the required Vietnamese language proficiency level to pursue specialized studies at universities.

Throughout the training process, the school has selected excellent, dedicated, and experienced lecturers in teaching Vietnamese to foreigners. At the same time, it has provided maximum support in terms of classrooms, libraries, and dormitories to help international students successfully complete their courses. In particular, it has invested in organizing group activities to foster solidarity and friendship among students from Vietnam and Laos.
During the period when the students are studying abroad, the school will also focus on organizing cultural, artistic, and sports exchange activities for Lao students and Vietnamese students, aiming to enhance understanding and build solidarity and friendship between students of the two countries.

At the same time, political and ideological education should be provided to the younger generation of both countries in schools to help them better understand the meaning and importance of preserving, strengthening, and developing Vietnam-Laos relations in the current period.
