Opening of the program "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese blood"
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 10, in Vinh city, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Nghe An province opened the program "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood" for the 6th time in 2018. Attending were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representative of the Central Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and representatives of departments and branches.

On behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, Mr. Le Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee spoke, highlighting the results and significance of the recent voluntary blood donation program.
In 2017, the province launched 69 blood donation campaigns and mobilized over 29,500 units of blood; in the first 6 months of the year, 16,258 units of blood were also mobilized, but the local anemia situation still occurred.

Appreciating the beautiful act of blood donation of volunteers; the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that in the coming time, agencies, departments, units and social organizations need to strengthen coordination and cooperation activities with the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and also call for continuing to mobilize union members and members to actively participate in the voluntary blood donation program to achieve high efficiency.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Gia Tien - Chief of Office of the Central Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, Head of the Red Journey Organizing Committee praised and acknowledged the efforts of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation. He highly appreciated the significance of the program "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood" and called for the cooperation and response of the social community, especially the young generation, to complete the blood unit target, to promptly supplement the blood bank, actively serving the purpose of blood donation, treatment, and timely treatment of people with serious illnesses...

On this occasion, the Program Organizing Committee awarded 10 gifts to 10 blood disease patients in difficult circumstances; presented flowers and symbols to the Provincial Steering Committee and sponsors who accompanied the program.

The 6th Blood Donation Festival 2018 in Vinh City officially begins tomorrow (July 11) at Vinh City Festival Palace and then at several locations across the province.
