Opening ceremony of the competition to learn about the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence.
On the afternoon of June 20th, the Department of Culture and Sports organized the opening ceremony of the "Understanding the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence and the Happy Family Club" competition in Nghe An province in 2024.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from various departments, agencies, districts, cities, and towns, as well as the teams participating in the competition.
The "Understanding the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence and Happy Family Clubs" competition in Nghe An province in 2024 took place over two days, June 20th and 21st, with the participation of 21 Happy Family Clubs from districts, cities, and towns of the province.
The teams participated in two parts of the competition: creating a promotional video clip and a promotional skit. The content of the competition revolved around understanding the regulations of the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Children, and the Law on Marriage and Family; communicating educational values, moral values, good lifestyles, criteria for behavior in the family, a healthy cultural environment, aiming to build "Happy Families - Prosperous Nation".
In her opening remarks at the competition, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi My Hanh stated: The Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence 2022 clearly defines acts of domestic violence, the nature and severity of each act, enhances measures to prevent and stop domestic violence, creates social consensus in preventing and controlling domestic violence, thereby preventing potential risks of domestic violence early and limiting domestic violence cases.
Furthermore, the amended law aligns with current social realities, contributing to the protection of victims of domestic violence and providing strong deterrents against perpetrators; mediation efforts are emphasized and improved in quality, contributing to strengthening public trust in the socio-political system; access to social services for victims of domestic violence is increased, support is provided to victims, and their safety is ensured, thereby fostering confidence in the fairness of the law.
Therefore, the "Understanding the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence and Happy Family Clubs" competition in Nghe An province in 2024 is a form of communication and propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and society as a whole regarding family affairs and the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; to exchange experiences and knowledge in building happy family clubs; and to contribute to the formation of a team of communicators on family affairs and the prevention and control of domestic violence.
