Opening Ceremony of the Nghe An Journalists Association Pickleball Cup 2025
On the morning of June 14th, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Nghe An Journalists Association Pickleball Cup took place at the Heritage Pickleball field in the Vinh Tan new urban area, Vinh City.
Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; and Hoang Van Phuc - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Representing the Nghe An Journalists Association were: Tran Minh Ngoc - Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, and Head of the Organizing Committee; Ho Thi Ngan - Standing Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association; Ngo Duc Kien - Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, along with representatives from various departments, units, media agencies, and participating reporters.
The 2025 Nghe An Journalists Association Pickleball Cup is the first sporting event organized for journalists in the province, creating a platform for interaction, improving health, and commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day. The tournament attracted nearly 50 athletes from 20 central and local press agencies, along with three district-level Culture - Sports - Media centers.
This year's tournament features three categories: men's doubles over 40, men's doubles under 40, and women's doubles with no age limit. Athletes will compete throughout the tournament to showcase their stamina, teamwork, and love of the sport.
In his opening remarks, journalist Tran Minh Ngoc - Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association, and Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized: "This is not only a sporting event but also a place to strengthen solidarity among members, reporters, and media agencies in the area. At the same time, it is an opportunity for journalists to improve their health following the example of President Ho Chi Minh, in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Nghe An Journalists Association."
The tournament also received support from many sponsors including: Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company, Hoang Gia Phat Group, URANE Vietnam, Avatar - Vinh, Song Con Sugar Company, Picklezone Vinh Heritage and Viet Nhat International Trading Joint Stock Company.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the official matches kicked off with high determination and enthusiastic support from fans including journalists, officials, members, relatives, and sports-loving members of the public.
The 2025 Nghe An Journalists Association Pickleball Cup not only contributes to encouraging physical training and sports activities among journalists, but also serves as an opportunity to connect media agencies and businesses, expand cooperation, enhance understanding, and work together for the common development of the province's journalism.
The tournament will conclude this afternoon (June 14th).
