Opening Ceremony of the Spring Press Festival 2026 (Year of the Horse)

Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, along with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee; and representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies.

Also attending were Comrade Tran Minh Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, and leaders of local and central press agencies operating in Nghe An province.

In his opening remarks at the Spring Press Festival 2026, Comrade Tran Minh Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, and Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association - stated that the annual Spring Press Festival is an opportunity to acknowledge the innovative efforts of the press, affirm the role, position, and important contributions of the press in general and the provincial press in particular to the socio-economic development of the country and the homeland.

This is also a cultural and spiritual activity for journalists in the province to interact with the public, continuing the bond and collaboration between the press and local Party committees, authorities, and businesses. Through this, it creates opportunities for the public to enjoy the passionate, creative, and engaging journalistic products of journalists over the past year.

Due to the merger of press agencies, the 2026 Spring Press Festival will have a reduced scale of exhibition booths for some newspapers and magazines. However, the structure of other exhibition booths will be maintained, contributing to the richness of the Spring Press Festival. These include the booths showcasing OCOP products from the Provincial Farmers' Association and the book exhibition from Nghe An Publishing House.

In addition to provincial publications, the Nghe An Journalists Association has ordered hundreds of Spring editions from major newspapers nationwide and local newspapers across the country, giving readers a comprehensive overview of journalism in 2025, a year full of changes and significant transformations, providing readers with much useful information.

At the Spring Press Festival, Nghe An's press, radio, and television also showcased modern journalistic equipment and technology, along with a space for young people interested in media to experience being an MC…

This year's Spring Newspaper exhibition booths will be open throughout the holiday period, creating a cultural highlight to welcome journalists and tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh Square during the Spring Festival.

The Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association emphasized that Nghe An is a major media center of the country, and the press agencies in the province and their representative offices and resident reporters have made tireless efforts to fulfill their noble mission, contributing to the socio-economic development of their homeland and country.

The journalistic achievements we see today are thanks to the attention of the provincial leaders, the support and cooperation of provincial and local departments and agencies, which have created the best conditions for media outlets to fulfill their assigned tasks.

Journalists in the beloved homeland of President Ho Chi Minh continue to innovate even more, affirming the leading role and position of mainstream journalism in guiding and shaping public opinion; promoting and encouraging exemplary new factors, spreading national values, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity; pioneering in digital transformation, improving the quality of the workforce in terms of expertise and skills, constantly cultivating political acumen and journalistic ethics.

Speaking at the Spring Press Conference of the Year of the Horse 2026, Comrade Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that in 2025, despite facing many difficulties, with the determination and efforts of the Party Committee and the government, the unity and consensus of the people and the business community, the socio-economic development of Nghe An province still achieved positive results. Local and central press agencies made a significant and positive contribution to these achievements.

Press agencies and journalists have worked together, spreading much positive information and sending many meaningful messages from the province to the community both domestically and internationally. Typical examples include the dissemination of political tasks regarding streamlining the administrative apparatus, implementing a two-tiered government system, and the work of disseminating information on disaster prevention and mitigation, flood relief, and housing construction for poor households over the past year.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh acknowledged the contributions of the press agencies to the development of the province. With trust and expectation, Mr. Thai Van Thanh hoped that the press agencies and journalists would continue to uphold their traditions, fulfilling their role and mission as writers and revolutionary soldiers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, contributing to the overall development of the province.

Responding to the call for Tet (Lunar New Year) for the poor, "no one left behind," the Organizing Committee of the Spring Newspaper Festival 2026 presented gifts to disadvantaged families in Thanh Vinh and Truong Vinh wards.

At the ceremony, delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Spring Newspaper Exhibition, officially opening the exhibition and reading area for the Spring Newspaper of the Year of the Horse 2026.

To promote the 2026 Lunar New Year newspaper editions, the Nghe An Journalists Association donated 1,000 copies to the Tet newspaper exhibition booth at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City.

This year's Spring Press Festival in the year of the Horse features exhibition booths from press agencies, magazines, and publishing houses nationwide, showcasing outstanding journalistic publications that reflect pressing issues in social life and forecast development trends for 2025.

In particular, alongside the Spring Press Festival of the Year of the Horse 2025, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and the Ho Chi Minh Monument also organized the photo exhibition "Nghe An - The Quintessence of Heritage, the Aspiration to Rise Up," associated with the traditional Tet space and cultural and artistic decoration and propaganda activities to welcome the new year, celebrate the Party, and celebrate Spring.
