Opening Ceremony of Cuong Temple Festival 2024
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 23rd (the 14th day of the 2nd lunar month), Dien Chau district held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Cuong Temple Festival with many vibrant cultural and sports activities.
Cuong Temple is located on Mo Da Mountain in Dien An commune, dedicated to Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong - who succeeded King Hung and led the Lac Viet people in fighting against the Qin and Zhao dynasties in the 3rd century BC. The temple also houses shrines to other deities who contributed to protecting the nation and its people.

The temple is an ancient architectural structure of massive scale, with unique architecture, elaborate construction and decoration, and has been recognized as a Historical and Cultural Monument - Architectural Art.

Through the activities at the opening ceremony, visitors were able to review the glorious history of the early resistance against foreign invaders by Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong, associated with the legend of the magic crossbow and the tragic love story of My Chau and Trong Thuy.

This year, Dien Chau district has invested very systematically and meticulously in the Cuong Temple Festival, both in terms of the ceremonial and festive aspects.
Accordingly, during the festival, there will be more than 20 activities and events rich in cultural identity, combined with many vibrant activities of the youth union. The most outstanding is the procession of the palanquins of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong and Princess My Chau. In addition, there are activities such as the "Proud of Our Homeland" camp, the "Singing Contest for Students and Elegant Female Students", men's and women's volleyball tournament, Ca Tru singing at the temple grounds, folk games, and the display of 15 stalls of local OCOP products...

The Cuong Temple Festival is not only an occasion to pay tribute to and commemorate Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong and other ancestors, but also plays an important role in preserving and promoting the traditional values of the nation, educating and fostering love for the homeland and country in future generations.
