Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Nghe An Lotus Tourism and Food Festival
On the evening of November 29th, in Vinh City, under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center organized the opening ceremony of the Nghe An Lotus Tourism and Culinary Festival 2024.
Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh – Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration; representatives from the Tourism Development Support Fund, the Vietnam Culinary Association, the Vietnam Tourism Association, as well as various departments, agencies, and culinary experts from across the country.
Representing Nghe An province were Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of various departments and agencies; the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center; and representatives from localities and businesses in the area.

The lotus flower has long been a distinctive cultural symbol, associated with elegance, humility, and purity. For Nghe An province, the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, the lotus holds even more special significance, as it reflects his thoughts, simple lifestyle, and noble soul.
Organizing the "Lotus Tourism and Culinary Festival" in Nghe An in 2024 not only aims to honor the unique cultural and culinary values of lotus but also serves as an important opportunity to promote regional linkages, advertise tourism, develop the local economy, and create a lasting impression on visitors.

Speaking at the festival, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, said: Nghe An is a land of outstanding people and rich natural resources, with a strong cultural identity. In recent years, Nghe An has made great strides in tourism development. In particular, we highly appreciate and commend the initiative of this Lotus Tourism and Culinary Festival. The event was organized meticulously and elaborately, not only promoting Nghe An's culture and cuisine but also honoring the culture, people of Nghe An, historical values, and national spirit.

Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The 2024 Lotus Tourism and Culinary Festival is an opportunity for Nghe An province to introduce and promote its image, affirming the brand of Nghe An - Vietnam as a friendly and hospitable tourist destination; it is a concrete and practical activity to successfully achieve the socio-economic targets set for 2024 and the following years, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Nghe An province.

The festival is expected to become an annual regional event held to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday on May 19th, both to remember his contributions and to highlight the cultural values associated with the lotus symbol, as well as to connect Nghe An with friends both domestically and internationally.
The 2024 Nghe An Lotus Tourism and Food Festival features over 70 booths from various regions and localities. Major travel agencies nationwide such as Vietravel, Saigontourist, Vietnam Airlines… along with other large organizations collaborating to organize and promote the event include: the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the Tourism Development Support Fund, the Vietnam Culinary Association, the Vietnam Tourism Association, and the Nghe An Culinary Association…

Over three days, from November 29th to December 1st, the 2024 Nghe An Lotus Tourism and Food Festival will feature special programs, most notably the "Essence of Lotus Cuisine" showcase, featuring many dishes and drinks prepared by renowned artisans and chefs from across the country. Locals and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy many unique dishes made from lotus and local specialties.

The festival also features a space showcasing Lotus Tourism and Cuisine; introducing commercial products, OCOP products, traditional products, and specialties of the province, as well as beautiful check-in spots to serve locals and tourists visiting Nghe An.
