Opening of the 18th Village Festival, 2017

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 6 (March 10th of the lunar calendar), at the Lang Vac archaeological site in Nghia Hoa commune, Thai Hoa town, the 18th Lang Vac festival in 2017 opened.

After 17 times of organization, Lang Vac Festival has become a good cultural feature, this is also an opportunity for local people in Phu Quy land and tourists from all over to return to their spiritual roots, to the Lac Hong race; at the same time, demonstrating the spirit of community solidarity, educating awareness of protecting, preserving relics, conserving and promoting traditional cultural and historical values.

"From there, build trust and pride in the homeland, build Thai Hoa town to become increasingly rich and civilized", Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Chairman of Thai Hoa town People's Committee emphasized in the opening speech of the festival.

This morning, before the opening ceremony, Thai Hoa town organized a procession of the Cauldron from the festival grounds to Lang Vac Temple, Nghia Hoa commune, Thai Hoa town. In a sacred and respectful atmosphere, the organizing committee of Lang Vac Festival held a Great Ceremony at Lang Vac Temple.

During the Festival program lasting until April 7, 2017, Vac Village Festival takes place with many exciting cultural and sports activities such as: volleyball, stick pushing, tug of war, beautiful singing, Vac Village beauties...

The previous Lang Vac festivals were held on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of the second lunar month. However, since the 18th festival in 2017, the People's Committee of Thai Hoa town has submitted a proposal and received approval from the Provincial People's Committee to change the festival time to the 9th, 10th, and 11th of the third lunar month, on the occasion of the Hung King's death anniversary (March 10th of the lunar calendar).

The change in the time of organization ensures solemnity, economy, gradually raises the level of the festival and meets the spiritual and cultural needs of all people. Thereby, once again affirming the value of Lang Vac Archaeological Site associated with the traces of the period of nation building of the Hung Kings.

Through that, Lang Vac becomes an address for people in the province and tourists from all over to make a pilgrimage to find their roots, especially on the occasion of the Hung King's death anniversary.
