Expelled from the Party, sealed Mr. Vu Dinh Duy's belongings
The Vietnam Chemical Industry Group has expelled Mr. Vu Dinh Duy from the Party and sealed his office belongings.
Regarding the case of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Duy, along with the Ministry of Industry and Trade issuing a decision to force him to quit his job, the Vietnam National Chemical Industry Group (Vinachem) said that it had implemented the expulsion of Mr. Vu Dinh Duy from the Party. At this point, Mr. Vu Dinh Duy "is no longer related to the Group".
Mr. Nguyen Gia Tuong, General Director of Vietnam Chemical Industry Group, told VOV reporters that the group has opened Mr. Vu Dinh Duy's office and sealed all of his belongings.

Because Mr. Duy has only been working for the group for a few months and only receives a salary, there is no debt and no problems have arisen. Currently, Vinachem has not done anything about personnel work to replace Mr. Vu Dinh Duy's position.
Mr. Vu Dinh Duy used to be the General Director of Petrochemical and Textile Fiber Joint Stock Company (PVtex), the investor of the Dinh Vu Textile Fiber project that was shelved due to losses of thousands of billions of VND. Mr. Duy was appointed as a member of the Board of Members of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Group since April 8, 2016.
From October 24, 2016 to present, Mr. Vu Dinh Duy has been absent from the office, with the reason of requesting to go abroad for medical treatment. But in reality, the information provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade is that the immigration management agency (Ministry of Public Security) confirmed that Mr. Duy left the country on October 22, 2016.
Immediately afterwards, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh established a working group to work with the Chemical Group. The disciplinary council established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed the disciplinary measure of forced dismissal for this case due to serious violations of labor discipline.
According to Tuoi Tre, during his time working at Vinachem as a member of the Board of Members, the group held 17 meetings of the Board of Members, but Mr. Duy only attended 9 meetings, the rest were absent.
At the meetings, Mr. Duy has not participated and contributed much to the group's activities, and all opinions have only stopped at the level of "unanimity".
It is known that the Dinh Vu fiber project is on the list of 12 loss-making projects of the industry and trade sector that the Government has directed to resolve. Previously, the Government Inspectorate also recommended that the Ministry of Public Security investigate and handle violations at the Dinh Vu fiber factory.
