How much health insurance is covered for medical examination and treatment in other provinces?
If I register for initial medical examination and treatment at the Provincial General Hospital and receive medical examination at District Hospitals, Medical Centers, General Clinics in the province and other localities, will I be covered by health insurance? If so, what is the rate?
That is the concern of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duc in Dong Nai province when participating in health insurance.
Regarding this issue, Vietnam Social Security responds as follows:
According to Article 22 of the Law on Health Insurance, health insurance participants are paid 100% of treatment costs within the scope of benefits on the health insurance card when: Going for medical examination and treatment at district-level hospitals nationwide; Registering for initial medical examination and treatment at commune-level health stations or polyclinics or district-level hospitals in the same province.
In case you register for initial medical examination and treatment at Dong Nai Provincial General Hospital (belonging to a provincial hospital), the Health Insurance Fund will pay 100% of the cost of medical examination and treatment at district hospitals nationwide, but will not pay when you go to commune health stations or medical centers (with an organizational model of a general clinic), general clinics in Dong Nai province and other localities outside the province (except in emergency cases).
