Urgent action needed to address landslides during the construction of National Highway 7C.
Currently, the construction unit is making efforts to overcome landslides on National Highway 7C (Do Luong) connecting to Ho Chi Minh Highway (Tan Ky), striving to complete and put it into use before November.

The National Highway 7C (Do Luong) project, connecting to the Ho Chi Minh Highway (Tan Ky), has been largely completed; however, On September 20th, heavy and prolonged rainfall caused serious landslides on the road through Ky Tan commune, Tan Ky district. Mud and soil from both sides of the mountain slopes poured down, burying the entire road in large quantities. Some landslides also brought down trees and rocks onto the road.

In response to this situation, since the beginning of October, the authorities have directed the construction unit to mobilize machinery and personnel to focus on clearing the landslide. To date, the construction unit has used excavators to remove over 50,000 cubic meters of soil and rocks that had buried the road section through Ky Tan commune, Tan Ky district.3mud and soil. At the same time, measures are being taken to address the "hanging" rock and soil areas on the mountain slopes that are at risk of collapsing.

In the section affected by the landslide in Ky Tan commune, Tan Ky district, the construction unit is also implementing a gabion retaining wall with a length of over 300 meters to prevent soil and rocks from falling from the mountain, and the work has now reached over 70% completion.
A representative from the Nghe An Department of Transport said: The Department has directed the construction unit to urgently accelerate the progress of repairing the landslide, so that this road can be handed over and put into use before November 2024.

The road project connecting National Highway 7C (Do Luong) to Ho Chi Minh Highway (Tan Ky) has a total investment of over 739 billion VND. The approximately 23 km long road connects Do Luong and Tan Ky districts and, once completed, will be a crucial project contributing to economic development between the two districts.
