"Sister Vinh" from "I See Yellow Flowers on Green Grass" said that she and her mother-in-law get along very well. During their first meeting, her mother-in-law urged her son to propose marriage to Khanh Hien.

After nearly two years of dating, Khanh Hien and her boyfriend James Ngo decided to get married at the end of November. They are currently preparing for their wedding. In recent days, the couple has traveled to Da Lat and several locations in Ho Chi Minh City to take wedding photos, capturing beautiful moments before they start their life together.

They met on the set of the movie "Taxi, What's Your Name?"

Speaking about how she met the Vietnamese-American cinematographer, Khanh Hien recounted that she and James Ngo met at a commercial shoot in 2012.

During their first meeting, they both felt an attraction to each other, but only exchanged friendly text messages. After some time, following his return to the US and his subsequent trip back to Vietnam in 2014, they reconnected. They began meeting in person and developed romantic feelings.

At that time, James was in charge of photography for the film "Taxi, What's Your Name?", while Khanh Hien was an actress. Working together on set for months fostered the development of their feelings for each other. After "Taxi, What's Your Name?" was completed, they officially entered into a serious relationship, publicly announcing it to friends and the media.

Khánh Hiền said that among all the people she loves, James understands her the most. She and her boyfriend have a telepathic connection; just by looking into each other's eyes and observing their gestures, they can understand what the other person is thinking and wanting.

Getting married at the age of 25, Khanh Hien was considered to have married too early, with many viewers expressing regret for her budding career. However, the actress, known for her role as "Sister Vinh" in "I See Yellow Flowers on Green Grass," holds a different view. She believes 25 is the perfect age to start a family. Both she and her fiancé want to settle down and focus on their careers. Furthermore, Khanh Hien cherishes their relationship and wants to maintain a lifelong commitment to her fiancé.

“When fate brought us together, I accepted it. Being with James makes me feel peaceful and comfortable. He is my other half. He understands me in every thought. So why would I look any further when happiness is right beside me? James is very thoughtful; he has never asked about my past. He quietly learned about it through family and friends. Partly because he understands my family background, we easily empathize with each other when we fall in love,” the beauty said about her boyfriend.

My boyfriend isn't rich.

Born into a poor family, Khanh Hien had to start working at the age of 13 and became the family's breadwinner at 15. She worked various jobs such as hairdressing, waitressing in cafes, PR, and sales to make a living and help support her family financially. Currently, Khanh Hien can rest assured about her mother and siblings.

Khánh Hiền shared that she feels happy to have fulfilled her responsibilities to her family over the past 10 years. With her own family, she won't have as much time to care for her mother and siblings as before, only being able to help out to some extent. Therefore, she is looking for a job for her mother and will also wholeheartedly assist her in raising her two younger siblings (currently in 11th and 6th grade).

Despite her difficult family circumstances, Khanh Hien had enough self-respect to refuse help from her boyfriend. They kept their finances separate during their relationship. Many believe the 25-year-old beauty is lucky to have a boyfriend who can financially support her family. However, "Sister Vinh" from "I See Yellow Flowers on Green Grass" denies this. When her boyfriend offered help, she refused because she didn't want to burden him further.

She confided that her boyfriend isn't a wealthy man. His work as a cameraman and image director provides him with a stable income, but it's not enough to make him rich. "I have to take care of my mother and siblings, and so does he. His mother and brother in America need his support. Perhaps that's why we have such empathy for each other," she said.

I've never been to America to meet my mother-in-law.

Khánh Hiền hasn't had the chance to meet James's family in the US yet. The two families mainly meet in Vietnam when James's mother and brother return home for Tet (Lunar New Year). She recounts that from their very first meeting, his mother urged him to propose marriage to Khánh Hiền.

“His mother loves me very much. We get along quite well in terms of personality. Our families have a close relationship. Every time he comes back to Vietnam, his mother regularly comes to my house for meals. The two mothers go to the market and cook together, which is very enjoyable. The family atmosphere is happy and warm, so I feel very secure and want to maintain this joy forever,” she confided.

Regarding their upcoming wedding, Khanh Hien and her fiancé plan to hold receptions in three locations. The reception in Ho Chi Minh City will primarily be for friends and colleagues. The actress hopes for a warm, intimate wedding ceremony that fits within their budget.
