Khanh Van doesn't know when she will return to Vietnam.
Due to the impact of Covid-19, commercial flights have been canceled, leaving Miss Khanh Van unsure when she will be able to return to Vietnam after the end of Miss Universe 2020.
CompetitionMiss Universe2020 concluded on May 17th with the victory going to Miss Mexico. After the final, the contestants were free and quickly returned to their home countries. However, the journey home forKhanh VanIt will be extremely challenging because commercial flights from the US to Vietnam are already very limited due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, Vietnam has closed its international airports recently, and entry must comply with the government's Covid-19 prevention regulations.
Initially, Khanh Van was scheduled to fly back to Vietnam around May 20th. However, the flight has now been canceled. Due to the postponement, the beauty queen and Bao Hoang - the National Director of Miss Universe in Vietnam - are remaining in Florida (USA), where the competition is being held.
The team wants to prioritize Khánh Vân's rest and recharge after a rather exhausting journey of over 10 days. Afterward, they will travel to New York to handle some personal matters. If time permits, they would like to fly to California on the West Coast of the US before returning to Vietnam. Upon returning to Vietnam, Khánh Vân will quarantine for 21 days, and she is mentally preparing herself for the pandemic.

Earlier, right after the finals ended, Khanh Van decided to go out to eat. She craved Vietnamese and Asian food because she had been eating according to the organizers' menu for many days. "I really miss my mother's cooking," she said.
The beauty queen also tried to say goodbye to her close friends: Malaysia (her roommate), Canada, England, Australia... The image of the girls hugging each other before parting ways left many emotions for the audience, because after a hard journey they had forged a beautiful friendship and many precious memories.

Miss Khanh Van departed for the US to participate in Miss Universe 2020 in early May.At that time, she also struggled to get to the US amidst the tense Covid-19 situation. The beauty queen had to endure three flights, with a total flight and transit time of 32 hours. Throughout that time, the Vietnamese representative strictly wore protective gear. Upon arriving in the US, she underwent further testing and received a negative result for the novel coronavirus before being allowed to participate in the competition.
In the Miss Universe final on the morning of May 17th (Hanoi time), Khanh Van made it into the Top 21 thanks to the public vote. Although she couldn't achieve the high ranking she hoped for in the final night, Khanh Van received a record number of votes and the love and support of audiences both domestically and internationally. This is a great encouragement for the Vietnamese representative after a strenuous journey in one of the most fiercely competitive beauty pageants on the planet.
