(Baonghean.vn) - The police in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh City, noticed a suspicious individual who frequently carried dozens of heroin packets to sell to customers in Vinh City.

In March 2017, to investigate and clarify the case, the Ha Huy Tap Ward Police proposed to the Vinh City Police leadership to establish a special case, code-named 417H, to continue the investigation. Drawing on the experience of successfully cracking two drug cases, apprehending two suspects and seizing two blocks of heroin in early 2017, the Ha Huy Tap Ward Police mobilized all its officers to participate in the investigation and solving of the case.

During the investigation, the detectives gathered sufficient evidence to confirm that the drug dealer, named Lung, residing in Vinh City, regularly obtained drugs from a man named Ba, residing in Ky Son District, and brought them to Vinh to sell. Around 9:30 PM on April 20th, they received information that Lung and Ba had appeared in Vinh City to engage in a large-scale drug transaction.
Under the direct command of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Cuong - Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police, Head of the Special Investigation Team, a task force from Ha Huy Tap Ward Police, in coordination with the professional department of the Provincial Police, implemented a plan to crack the case.

Upon discovering that Lung was riding a motorbike in the Tan Hoa block, Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh City, waiting for someone to arrive to sell prohibited goods, and that Ba was standing about 40 meters away on a motorbike acting as a lookout for Lung during the "delivery," the special task force decided to crack down on the case, deeming the time was right.At approximately 10 PM that same day, while Lung was waiting for someone to arrive to sell the drugs, he was caught red-handed by detectives from the special task force. They seized two blocks of heroin, one mobile phone, and one motorbike. At the same time, another team of detectives arrived and arrested Ba, bringing him to the investigative agency for questioning.
During the initial interrogation, suspect Lung identified himself as Tran Van Lung (born in 1976), residing in Hung Hoa commune, Vinh City. The other suspect identified himself as Lau Ba (born in 1975), residing in Ky Son district, Nghe An province.
To commend the task force and officers involved in the successful resolution of the case, on April 26th, Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of Nghe An Province, visited Vinh City Police to commend and congratulate them. He also requested that Vinh City Police promptly investigate and clarify the criminal acts of the suspects regarding the illegal buying, selling, storing, and transporting of narcotics, in order to prosecute them according to the law.
