Regarding the case of the couple murdered and their house set on fire in Son Tay, for their outstanding achievements in solving the case, Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang has decided to award three units, PC45, PC54, and the Son Tay Town Police (Hanoi City Police), 10 million VND each.

Previously, on December 26th, the Hanoi City Police initiated a criminal case and arrested Nguyen Cong Ngoc (25 years old, residing in Xuan Khanh, Son Tay, Hanoi) as a suspect in the murder of Mr. Nguyen Van Chuc (60 years old) and Mrs. Le Thi Nho (57 years old, residing at 66/24 Chua Thong Street, Son Tay town, Hanoi). Ngoc was arrested for murder, robbery, and destruction of property.

According to initial information, Nguyen Cong Ngoc was a frequent gambler and owed tens of millions of dong to Ms. Le Thi Nho. Ms. Nho repeatedly demanded repayment, but Ngoc refused. After being relentlessly pursued by Ms. Nho, Ngoc used a hammer and knife to kill both Ms. Nho and her husband.

At the police station, Ngoc confessed to the aforementioned acts, admitting to stealing three gold rings, two gold earrings, four mobile phones, a helmet, and a pair of sandals. He then set fire to the victim's house to conceal his crime before escaping.

Currently, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency is urgently consolidating evidence and completing the initial case file. Afterward, the file, evidence, and suspects will be transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

As reported, at around 10 PM on December 24th, residents on Chua Thong Street (Son Tay, Hanoi) discovered a fire breaking out at Mr. Nguyen Van Chuc's house. People rushed to put out the fire and notified the homeowner, but received no response.

Many residents then used hammers to break down the door to the house and found Mr. and Mrs. Chuc lying motionless on the floor, bleeding profusely.

Neighbors quickly reported the fire, and the Son Tay Fire Department arrived to extinguish it. Mr. and Mrs. Chuc were found dead with multiple stab wounds.

On the morning of December 25th, after receiving information about the incident and determining it to be an exceptionally serious murder case, Colonel Duong Van Giap - Head of the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police (PC45) - personally went to the scene to direct the units and forces investigating the case.
