On the afternoon of April 4, the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized an award ceremony for Project 126B, led by the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police, for destroying a 900 billion VND football betting ring. This is the largest football betting ring in Nghe An to date.

After nearly 3 months of establishing Project 126B, on the morning of March 29, the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of High-Tech Crime Prevention Police (C50 - Ministry of Public Security) to urgently arrest 3 subjects.

In which, Tran The Hung (born in 1979, residing in Quang Trung ward, Vinh city) is the leader. Le Hong Trung (born in 1987, Ben Thuy ward) is an important link in the chain and Ngo Minh An (born in 1970, residing in block 14, Trung Do, Vinh city) is the subject participating in betting.

Searching the suspects' homes, the police seized two laptops, five cell phones and a lot of data related to organizing soccer betting over the Internet.

Tran The Hung manages the KX573 account, a Master Agent account specializing in organizing betting on the website bong88.com. Football betting activities have been taking place since 2014, with 45 big gamblers in Vinh City participating with an amount equivalent to 900 billion VND.

The gambler account with the largest amount of gambling money is 6,299,311 points (about 250 billion VND), the account with the most losses is 171,616 points (about 7 billion VND). Most of the gamblers participating in gambling in this system lost.

At the ceremony, Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised and congratulated the excellent achievements of Task Force 126B. This achievement demonstrated the spirit of ingenuity, creativity, intelligence, and determination to attack and suppress crime of the forces participating in the fight.

He requested the Provincial Police Investigation Agency to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security's professional departments to continue to expand the investigation and strictly handle the subjects according to the law.
