When will Vinh City "renovate" its sidewalks and implement one-way streets?
(Baonghean.vn) - As part of its sidewalk management plan, Vinh City intends to transform some areas into "parking bays" for cars and implement one-way traffic during peak hours on some streets. So when will this work be carried out?

Vinh City lacks centralized parking facilities; therefore, the ban on parking on sidewalks has caused traffic congestion on several roads due to the increasing number of cars. Consequently, the Vinh City Party Committee has agreed with the plan submitted by the City People's Committee to implement a scheme to "cut out" spaces on sidewalks to create parking areas for residents and businesses.
Additionally, roads with sidewalks wider than 6 meters will allow one lane of parking along the sidewalk; while roads with 9-meter sidewalks are proposed to allow one lane of parking across the sidewalk. This must ensure a minimum of 1.5 meters of sidewalk for pedestrians.
The Vinh City Party Committee also assigned the City People's Committee to study and implement one-way traffic on roads during peak hours such as Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Phung Chi Kien, and Tran Quang Dieu. Specifically: Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street prohibits cars from traveling from Le Nin Street to Ha Huy Tap Street from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (the section from the intersection with Ton That Thuyet Street to Ha Huy Tap Street); Phung Chi Kien Street prohibits cars from traveling from Le Nin Street to Ha Huy Tap Street from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (the section from the intersection with Tran Quang Khai Street to Ha Huy Tap Street); Tran Quang Dieu Street prohibits cars from traveling from Dao Duy Tu Street to Phan Dang Luu Street (the section from the intersection with Dao Duy Tu Street to Phan Dang Luu Street). |
However, most people are wondering and asking: When will these tasks be completed to facilitate the daily lives and businesses of the people?

A representative from the Vinh City Urban Management Department stated: "All options, including the budget, have been calculated to implement the above policies. However, when and how they will be implemented depends on the upcoming meeting of the City People's Council for approval."
Therefore, it is highly likely that the sidewalk renovation solutions will not be implemented until the end of July.
"Sidewalks in Vinh City are being 'cut out' to create parking spaces."
