These days, in Nam Linh commune, Nam Dan district, we see farmers and workers of irrigation enterprises enthusiastically working on irrigation projects in all the fields.
Mr. Le Van Thanh - Chairman of Nam Linh Commune People's Committee, said: Nam Linh Commune has over 370 hectares of rice, after the recent floods, many irrigation canals were silted and damaged, affecting people's production. Therefore, in this irrigation campaign, the commune mobilized maximum forces to carry out the work of irrigation in the fields well.
Taking advantage of favorable weather, from October 12 to now, Nam Linh commune has mobilized over 2,000 people to participate in irrigation work. The whole commune has dredged over 8 km of canals, mainly main canals such as Chin Mau canal, Nuong Chan canal, Chan Nuoi canal...; cleared over 5,000m of bush banks.2, digging and repairing the regional embankment system, field embankment... Currently, the commune is surveying to upgrade damaged and degraded water intake culverts.

Up to this point, the whole district has mobilized more than 15,000 people to participate in dredging and digging soil, with a volume of nearly 3,000m3, clearing and cleaning canals over 15,000m3, embankment area, 4,700m embankment3.

Therefore, irrigation work is always given special attention by the locality. From October 12 to December 31, 2024, the entire Hung Nguyen district will carry out irrigation work.
Accordingly, Hung Nguyen focused on repairing damage to irrigation works caused by the flood. Collecting duckweed, cutting grass, dredging irrigation and drainage canals, clearing main drainage axes, dredging and clearing channels, pumping station suction tanks, water intake works, and supplying domestic water.
Repair and renovate embankments, demarcate aquaculture areas. Maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment of irrigation and drainage pumping stations, ensuring 100% of machinery and works are ready for production and people's lives. Continue to implement the program of consolidating canals, especially intra-field canals, in line with new rural criteria.
Up to now, the whole district has about 20,000 people in the district participating in irrigation work, including agencies, units, and schools located in the area.
