Well drilling causes subsidence of houses in Quy Hop.
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, residents in Phuong hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune (Quy Hop district) are living in a state of anxiety because the foundations of their houses are sinking, posing a danger to their lives.
On November 8th, upon receiving reports of land subsidence in Phuong hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, which caused the collapse of toilets, bathrooms, and house foundations of several households, the Nghia Xuan commune leadership formed an inspection team and documented the incident at the scene.

Inspection revealed that the foundations of the toilets and bathrooms belonging to Mr. Thai Ba Lam and Mr. Nguyen Danh Trung had subsided, causing the foundations, fences, and toilets to collapse, and the bathrooms to crack. A deep hole, 6 meters wide and approximately 3 meters deep, had formed at the subsided site.

An inspection of the surrounding area revealed that 20 meters west of the landslide site, there was a well drilled with a diameter of 110 cm and a depth of 30 meters; and 20-30 meters north of the landslide site, there were two well drilled with a diameter of 110 cm and a depth of 30 meters.
According to several witnesses present at the scene, the well-drilling crew had stopped working three days ago.

Mr. Thai Ba Lam stated: After discovering the house foundation sinking on the afternoon of November 7th, his family poured a truckload of sand into the sinkhole; however, on the morning of November 8th, the situation worsened, prompting them to report it to the local authorities for appropriate action. Currently, Mr. Lam's family is trying to patch the cracks.

The incident has been reported by local authorities to higher levels for guidance on how to resolve it and clarify the cause.
