Moments when soldiers on Truong Sa Island celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year).
Soldiers on Song Tu Tay Island (Truong Sa Special Zone, Khanh Hoa province) and local residents are ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse with activities such as making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), decorating houses, and participating in various traditional games.

Vietnamese Navy soldiers from Brigade 146, Region 4 of the Navy, stationed on Song Tu Tay Island are busily preparing to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse.

Bundles of banana leaves, peach blossoms, and kumquat trees were passed ashore by a team of workers who had brought them from the mainland.

Before midnight on New Year's Eve, the soldiers decorated the hall and arranged trays of five kinds of fruit in preparation for meaningful New Year's celebrations.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Khuong, Political Officer of Song Tu Tay Island, during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Party Committee and command of the island proactively developed a plan to organize a joyful, warm, safe, and economical Tet celebration for officers, soldiers, civilians, and forces stationed on the island, without neglecting their duties.

A few days ago, soldiers and civilians joined hands to make banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) on the island.

The soldiers watched over the cooking pot while singing and playing music all night long.

A moment of rest for the young soldiers.

The head of the delegation and doctors from the Central Military Hospital 108 (Hanoi) presented gifts to households on the island on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

From barracks to residential areas, every task was meticulously carried out, ensuring both the material and spiritual well-being of soldiers and civilians, while maintaining strict combat readiness.

Traditional folk games such as tug-of-war, sack racing, arm wrestling, and volleyball are played with great enthusiasm from before to during the Tet holiday.
Amidst the vast ocean of our homeland, spring on the distant islands not only brings warmth and camaraderie between soldiers and civilians but also affirms the unwavering and steadfast will of the soldiers of Truong Sa at the forefront of the waves.
