Construction begins on the 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam power line project.
On the afternoon of February 9th, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Region Power Projects Management Board, in coordination with relevant units, commenced construction of the 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam power line project.
This is a Class I energy project, with EVNNPT as the investor. Central Vietnam Power Projects Management Board The project management and operation will be handled by Power Transmission Company 1. The project received investment approval from the People's Committee of Nghe An province, along with the investor approval, in Decision No. 123/QD-UBND dated November 11, 2024.
The 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam power line project is being constructed in the districts of Do Luong, Nghi Loc, and Hung Nguyen.

The project involves the construction of two 220kV transmission lines from the 220kV Do Luong Substation to the 220kV Nam Cam Substation, with a total length of approximately 37 km. The section from G4 to G6 (approximately 4 km in length) will have four circuits to be used in conjunction with the two 110kV Do Luong – Nam Dan transmission lines.
The bay expansion project at the 220kV Do Luong Substation will install equipment for two 220kV bays within the existing 220kV Do Luong Substation and link the communication system for the 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam transmission line.
The total investment for the project is nearly 557 billion VND.
Upon completion, the project will meet the electricity demand for the Central region, which concentrates several important existing and future industrial loads in Nghe An province, contributing to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province. The project strengthens the power grid connection between Northern Vietnam and Laos, helping to alleviate power supply shortages in the Northern region; supports power lines in the region to enhance safe and stable operation of the national power system; reduces power losses in the transmission grid, and increases the production and business efficiency of EVN and EVNNPT.

Mr. Le Xuan Hoa, Director of the Central Vietnam Power Projects Management Board, stated: "This project is of significant importance in ensuring electricity supply for Nghe An province. This is a vibrant economic development area of the province with rapid electricity growth, and it also serves to alleviate the power grid congestion from Laos to Vietnam, as committed by the governments of both countries. Therefore, the Central Vietnam Power Projects Management Board requires all units involved in the construction process to strictly adhere to technical standards and regulations; effectively manage occupational safety and health and environmental protection; and ensure the quality of the construction. The project aims to be completed and energized in 2025."
