Van - Cua Rao Temple is located in Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district. It is a place to worship the famous general Doan Nhu Hai (1280-1335) and the generals of the Tran Dynasty who died in the war against the Ai Lao invaders, and to worship the Three Holy Mothers and Saint Tran Hung Dao Dai Vuong.

The temple was built in the 14th century and restored in the 19th century. Through the ups and downs of history, especially through two wars, the temple was seriously degraded. In 2005, Van-Cua Rao Temple was restored according to its original architecture. In early 2009, Van-Cua Rao Temple was officially recognized and ranked as a provincial historical and cultural relic.

However, due to being built a long time ago, having gone through many ups and downs of history and harsh nature, the temple has now been degraded, not ensuring the safety for the worship needs of ethnic minorities in Tuong Duong district and tourists from all over the world... Therefore, with the consensus of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An province, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district established an investment project to restore, embellish, and expand the landscape of the relic, creating a cultural and spiritual highlight. This is a project that mobilizes 100% of socialized capital.

The first phase will be to renovate and embellish the upper palace and the back palace, with ironwood structure, ancient-looking architecture, carved patterns, with a construction area of 101 m2; the road to the temple will be renovated, the temple yard will be paved with natural stone and trees will be planted to create a landscape. It is expected that after 3 months from the date of commencement, the project will complete phase 1.
