From the 2023-2024 school year, many higher education institutions have begun to plan to increase tuition fees. The legal basis for schools to increase tuition fees is Decree 81/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021 of the Government.
Accordingly, public university tuition fees will increase for all different types of schools.
According to Decree 81, from the 2023-2024 school year, the tuition fee ceiling for public universities that have not yet covered their regular expenses will be 13.5 - 27.6 million VND/school year (10 months), depending on the field of study.
Of which, the Medicine and Pharmacy sector has the highest tuition ceiling, 27.6 million VND/school year, followed by other health sectors. The lowest is the Arts sector with 13.5 million VND/school year.
In fact, every year, there are many candidates who pass the university entrance exam, but because their family's financial situation cannot afford the tuition fees of the chosen school, they cannot attend.
Therefore, admissions experts advise candidates to carefully consider tuition fees and tuition increase schedules of schools before choosing a school and major.
