Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, many higher education institutions are beginning to plan tuition fee increases. The legal basis for these tuition fee increases is Government Decree 81/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021.
Accordingly, tuition fees at public universities will increase across all types of institutions.
According to Decree 81, from the 2023-2024 academic year, the tuition fee ceiling for public universities that are not yet self-sufficient in covering their operating expenses is 13.5 - 27.6 million VND/academic year (10 months), depending on the field of study.
Among these, the Medical and Pharmaceutical fields have the highest tuition fee ceiling at 27.6 million VND/academic year, followed by other health-related fields. The lowest is the Arts group with 13.5 million VND/academic year.
In fact, every year, many students are accepted into university but are unable to attend due to their families' financial constraints and the high tuition fees.
Therefore, admissions experts advise candidates to carefully consider tuition fees and tuition fee increase schedules of universities before choosing a school and a major.
