Two individuals charged with resisting arrest.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 16th, Major Nguyen Huu Cuong, Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police, announced that Pham Duy Long (born in 1988), residing in Quang Trung Ward (Vinh City), and Nguyen Xuan Hoang (born in 1991), residing in Trung Do Ward (Vinh City), have been arrested and detained for the act of resisting public officials.

In connection with this case, Nguyen Ba Ngoc (born in 1993), residing in Hung Thinh commune (Hung Nguyen district), and Luong Trung Hieu (born in 1991), residing in Quan Bau ward (Vinh city), are being investigated for the same crime.

The two suspects are Pham Duy Long and Nguyen Xuan Hoang.

According to the investigating agency, earlier, at 11 PM on December 5th, a group consisting of Pham Duy Long, Nguyen Xuan Hoang, Nguyen Ba Ngoc, and Luong Trung Hieu went to sing karaoke at a bar on Phan Dinh Phung Street (Vinh City). While they were singing, Tung (25 years old), residing in Cua Nam Ward (whom they knew previously), came to Pham Duy Long's room with a glass of wine to toast. A conflict then arose between Tung and Long's group. Both sides threw glasses at each other and were separated by the karaoke bar's security guards.

Tung was escorted to the lobby by his friends, but Long's group continued to attack him with fists and bricks, causing him to collapse on the spot. At this point, the 113 emergency response team arrived to handle the situation. Luong Trung Hieu and Nguyen Ba Ngoc were apprehended shortly afterward, while the suspects verbally abused and insulted the officers on duty.

Evidence seized in the case.

Seeing their accomplice being apprehended, Long and Hoang returned home, bringing with them two sacks containing nine machetes over a meter long and three sharp knives. They also brought a group of more than 10 people to the scene, shouting and inciting the police to release the detainees. This group continued to wield the machetes, threatening to attack the opposing group.

The situation forced the 113 police force to deploy more officers to the scene and fire eight warning shots from an AK rifle into the air. After this series of shots, the gang fled. Pham Duy Long and Luong Xuan Hoang were escorted to the police station, and a day later Nguyen Ba Ngoc and Luong Trung Hieu were arrested.

The victim, Tung, is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The Vinh City Police are continuing to investigate the case and will prosecute those involved.
