(Baonghean.vn) - The police in Hoang Mai town (Nghe An province) announced that they have just prosecuted two individuals, Nguyen Duc Doan and Dao Van Dung, for the crime of "Resisting public officials in the performance of their duties".
At approximately 11:30 AM on February 20, 2024, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Hoang Mai Town Police received information about the arrest of Dao Van Dung (born in 1981), residing in Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province, for the crime of "Resisting Public Officials" at the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station ( thuộc the Traffic Police Department).

Accordingly, at approximately 10:45 AM on the same day, the Traffic Police Task Force, while patrolling and inspecting National Highway 1A in Tan Tien Hamlet, Quynh Thien Ward, Hoang Mai Town, spotted a tractor-trailer truck with license plate 36C-288.88 towing a trailer with license plate 36R-019.79, driven by Dao Van Dung, showing signs of carrying oversized cargo and not properly securing the goods. They signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection.
However, Dung did not comply and deliberately slowed down, hitting Lieutenant Nguyen Hoang Nhan, then continued driving, dragging Lieutenant Nhan for about 150 meters, causing him injuries. Lieutenant Nhan again requested the driver to pull over, but Dung stopped the car in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam for more than 15 minutes and barricading himself inside the vehicle.
After being persuaded by the Task Force and the Hoang Mai Town Police, Dao Van Dung finally came to cooperate but still refused to comply with the inspection request, obstructing the Task Force's patrol and traffic safety enforcement duties.

Earlier, at approximately 8:05 PM on February 13, 2024, a traffic patrol team from the Traffic Police Department of Hoang Mai Town Police was conducting inspections, controls, and enforcement duties.alcohol concentration violationOn National Highway 1A in Thinh My Hamlet, Quynh Thien Ward, Hoang Mai Town, authorities spotted Nguyen Duc Doan (born in 2004), residing in Quynh Phuong Ward, Hoang Mai Town, driving a motorcycle with license plate 37L1-811.00 in the direction of Vinh - Hanoi without wearing a helmet, so they signaled him to stop for inspection.
However, Đoàn disregarded the order and deliberately drove his motorcycle past the task force, crashing into Captain Cao Tuấn Anh in an attempt to escape, causing the officer to be injured.
Upon discovering the incident, the task force quickly apprehended Doan, conducted a breathalyzer test, and took him to the Quynh Thien Ward Police Station for questioning. The results showed that Doan had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.085 mg/l, did not possess a driver's license, and did not have vehicle registration papers. The Hoang Mai Town Police then drew up a report arresting Nguyen Duc Doan for the crime of "Resisting a Public Official."
After consolidating the relevant documents and evidence, the Hoang Mai Town Police Department issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings and indict two individuals, Nguyen Duc Doan and Dao Van Dung, for the crime of "Resisting Public Officials." The unit also reported to the Standing Committee of the Hoang Mai Town Party Committee, requesting that judicial agencies coordinate closely, based on legal regulations, to conduct timely and rigorous investigations, prosecutions, and trials; simultaneously applying strict preventive measures; and unanimously selecting this case as a landmark case and organizing a mobile trial to warn and deter other potential offenders.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Police leadership, and the Hoang Mai Town Police promptly organized visits to encourage and support Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Hoang Nhan and Captain Cao Tuan Anh.
