Two individuals charged with producing counterfeit cotton pads.
On March 5th, the police agency issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings and indict two individuals for the crime of producing counterfeit goods.
In late December 2024, the Economic Police Department of the Hanoi City Police, in coordination with the City Market Management Agency, inspected the compliance with the law in production and business activities of DNT Production and Import-Export Trading Company Limited (address: La Phu commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi City), managed by Nguyen Van Duong (born 1982; permanent residence: Cho Hamlet, Dai Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi City), and a goods storage facility in Geleximco Urban Area, Duong Noi ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi, owned by Pham Thi Huong (born 1999; permanent residence: Quynh Tho commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province).

Inspections at these two establishments revealed thousands of counterfeit LASOIREE brand cotton pads; the value of the counterfeit goods, equivalent to the value of genuine products, was nearly 1 billion VND.

Based on the documents and evidence collected, the Investigation Police Department of Hanoi City Police has issued a decision.initiate legal proceedings.The police have initiated criminal proceedings against Pham Thi Huong and Nguyen Van Duong for the crime of producing counterfeit goods as stipulated in Article 192 of the Penal Code. Previously, in April 2024, the investigative agency also initiated a case and prosecuted three defendants for the crime of producing counterfeit goods, specifically for the production of fake cotton pads.
