Three individuals have been charged with tax evasion in connection with the case at Cuong Minh Group Joint Stock Company.
On January 15th, the Investigation Police Department of Thanh Hoa province issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute three individuals for the crime of "Tax Evasion," which occurred at Cuong Minh Group Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Hac Thanh ward, Thanh Hoa city.
The defendants include: Nguyen Xuan Bien (born in 1979), Chairman of the Board of Directors; Vu Thi Huong (born in 1983), Deputy General Director of the company; and Le Thi Ban (born in 1985), Chief Accountant.

According to initial investigations, between 2019 and 2020, Cuong Minh Group Joint Stock Company was assigned to manage and operate kiosk rentals at two projects: Phu Son New Market and Nam Ngan New Market in Thanh Hoa City. During the course of business operations, Ms. Vu Thi Huong directly managed the kiosk rentals and collected rent from traders.
However, in order to conceal revenue, Ms. Huong instructed Ms. Le Thi Ban not to issue value-added tax invoices for the money collected from renting kiosks, and also not to declare and pay taxes as required by law. This act resulted in Cuong Minh Group Joint Stock Company evading value-added tax amounting to over 1.2 billion VND, causing significant revenue losses for the state budget.

The investigation also determined that, despite being the head of the business, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bien was fully aware of the company's kiosk rental business and its failure to issue invoices and declare taxes, but he did not take any corrective measures to prevent it, allowing the defendants to continue committing illegal acts.
Based on the documents and evidence collected, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute the three aforementioned individuals for investigation and handling in accordance with the law. The case is currently being further investigated to clarify the responsibilities of related individuals and organizations.
