(Baonghean.vn) - After just over 1 day of receiving the report, using professional measures, Nghi Loc District Police (Nghe An) successfully arrested a subject who swindled cars to steal hundreds of millions of dong from the victim.

Nghi Loc District Police have just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Ngoc Tu (born in 1982), residing in Hamlet 7, Nghi Phong Commune, Nghi Loc District, for the crime ofFraudulent appropriation of property.

Previously, Nghi Loc District Police received a complaint from a man residing in Nghi Duc Commune, Vinh City, stating that in mid-May 2022, while using social media, the victim saw Nguyen Ngoc Tu posting pictures and information about selling a car with the reason that the customer had mortgaged it but did not come to pick up the car for 370 million VND. After the two parties agreed, Tu asked the victim to deposit 170 million VND in advance and would deliver the car within 45 days from the date of deposit.

However, after the victim had paid the full deposit of 170 million VND, Tu still did not deliver the car as promised. Although the victim had contacted him many times to claim the car, Nguyen Ngoc Tu still found every excuse to avoid and then blocked all means of contact with the victim.

Receiving the complaint, Nghi Loc District Police quickly mobilized forces and means to investigate and clarify. Applying synchronous professional measures, after just over 24 hours of hot pursuit, on October 2, Nghi Loc District Police successfully arrested Nguyen Ngoc Tu for fraud and property appropriation while he was hiding in Dien Thanh Commune, Dien Chau District.

At the Investigation Agency, Tu admitted his illegal behavior. Accordingly, because he wanted money for personal expenses, Nguyen Ngoc Tu took pictures of cars from the internet, then posted them for sale on social networking sites. In fact, Tu did not own a car as he had advertised.

To serve the investigation and expand the case, Nghi Loc District Police announced that any victims of Nguyen Ngoc Tu should quickly contact Nghi Loc District Police to provide information to serve the investigation and handling.
