Prosecution initiated against individual for illegal trading of invoices and tax evasion.
Bui Thanh Chung, residing in Phu Ly City (Ha Nam province), illegally bought and sold invoices to gain illicit profits exceeding 369 million VND.
On September 7th, the Ha Nam Provincial Police announced that they have initiated a criminal case, charged the suspects, and issued arrest warrants for two individuals, Bui Thanh Chung (born in 1984, Chau Son Ward, Phu Ly City) and Pham Hong Thanh (born in 1991, Thanh Chau Ward, Phu Ly City), on charges of "Illegal trading of invoices" and "Tax evasion".
Previously, during patrol and inspection activities, the Traffic Police Department of Ha Nam Provincial Police discovered and issued citations to several transport vehicles bearing the Trung Doan logo, belonging to Hung Vuong Transport and Trading Company Limited (address: Do Nha residential area, Chau Son ward, Phu Ly city) for violations including carrying goods exceeding the permitted weight limit and illegally modifying the dimensions of the vehicle's body and cargo bed.
Upon examining documents related to the company's registered business activities, authorities discovered that Hung Vuong Company showed signs of illegally trading invoices and evading taxes. The Director of the Ha Nam Provincial Police Department instructed the Economic Police Department to investigate and clarify the matter.
During the investigation, the police discovered that Hung Vuong Company, owned by Bui Thanh Chung, had engaged in the illegal buying and selling of value-added tax invoices to claim VAT deductions, resulting in illicit profits exceeding 369 million VND. Pham Hong Thanh was the person who sold the fraudulent invoices to Bui Thanh Chung.
