Prosecution initiated against individual for using forged land ownership certificates as collateral.
With the intention of using a fake land title to obtain money for personal expenses, Lam went to a Facebook page to order a fake Certificate of Land Use Rights, Ownership of Houses and Other Assets Attached to Land.
On August 26th, the Ba Ria City Police, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, announced that they have initiated a criminal case and indicted Kim Tran Quoc Lam (born in 1980, residing in Long Toan ward, Ba Ria City) for the crime of "Using counterfeit seals or documents of agencies or organizations".
With the intention of using a fake land title certificate as collateral to earn money for personal expenses, Lam went to a Facebook social media site to order a fake Certificate of Land Use Rights, Ownership of Houses and Other Assets Attached to Land (land title certificate) containing information about a plot of land in Long Tan commune, Dat Do district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

However, when Lam took the fake land ownership certificate to a notary office in the city to request authentication, the notary staff checked it and discovered it was fake. They then reported it to the police and summoned Lam to the station for questioning. There, Kim Tran Quoc Lam confessed to all his actions.

The case is currently being investigated and handled by the Ba Ria City Police in accordance with the law.
