Authorities prosecute individual for issuing invoices for over 20,000 pigs.
A 42-year-old man in Ca Mau has been prosecuted in connection with issuing invoices for over 20,000 pigs to CP Vietnam Livestock Corporation.
Regarding the case of a slaughterhouse issuing invoices for processing over 20,000 pigs for CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Vietnam), on April 27th, according to a reporter's source, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ca Mau Provincial Police has initiated criminal proceedings against Vu Bien (42 years old; residing in Khanh An commune, Ca Mau province) for the crime of "Illegal trading of invoices". Bien has been released on bail to facilitate the investigation.
As previously reported, in the last six months of 2022, Vu Bien facility issued invoices for processing over 8,600 pigs worth over 1.207 billion VND to 7 branches of CP Vietnam, including: Can Tho branch, branch 3 in Dong Nai, Tien Giang branch... From January to June 2023, Vu Bien facility continued to issue invoices for over 12,000 pigs, worth over 1.687 billion VND.
According to the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry of Ca Mau province, the Vu Bien facility is only registered to slaughter fewer than 20 pigs per day and night.
When questioned by authorities, the facility failed to provide proof of the actual delivery and receipt of pigs between the facility and the processing contractor; it also failed to declare expenses on the tax return. Furthermore, the owner admitted that the transactions were fictitious, issuing invoices only upon request and receiving 5% of the value on each invoice.
In addition to the 66 invoices mentioned above, authorities also discovered that since April 2022, Vu Bien establishment had issued 20 more invoices worth 298 million VND to several branches of CP Vietnam.
