Director prosecuted for illegally dumping 700 tons of waste.
On June 17th, the Investigation Agency (Economic Police Department) of Bac Ninh Provincial Police announced that it had issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute three defendants for illegally dumping nearly 700 tons of solid waste from concrete production into the natural environment.
Through intelligence gathering, the Economic Police Department of Bac Ninh Provincial Police discovered that in Chien Thang village, Bac Lung commune, Bac Ninh province, there was illegal dumping of large quantities of waste, posing a serious risk of environmental pollution.
On June 4th, the Economic Police Department, in coordination with other relevant agencies, conducted an on-site inspection.
In the lakeside area of Chien Thang village, Bac Lung commune, authorities discovered a large quantity of discarded concrete waste and debris dumped illegally.
Upon verification, the police determined that this waste originated from the production activities of three businesses: Hoang Khang Group Co., Ltd.; Branch No. 1 of VietSing Concrete Joint Stock Company; and Phu Giang Concrete Joint Stock Company.
Specifically, Hoang Khang Group Co., Ltd. illegally dumped a total of 369.89 tons of waste into the environment; Branch No. 1 of Vietsing Concrete Joint Stock Company illegally dumped 183.07 tons of waste; and Phu Giang Concrete Joint Stock Company illegally dumped 141.07 tons of waste.
Based on the documents and evidence collected, on June 11th, the authorities issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings in three cases, indicting three defendants: Nguyen Van Mau (born in 1988, residing in Vinh The neighborhood, Nhan Hoa ward, Bac Ninh province) - manager at the concrete mixing plant of Hoang Khang Group Co., Ltd.; Luu Tien Huy (born in 1983, residing in Bac Lung commune, Bac Ninh province) - Deputy Director of Vietsing Concrete Joint Stock Company; and Nguyen Manh Duong (born in 1980, residing in Bac Lung commune, Bac Ninh province) - Director of Phu Giang Concrete Joint Stock Company, for the crime of "causing environmental pollution".
Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Bac Ninh province is conducting an expanded investigation to clarify the actions of relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals in order to strictly handle them according to the law.
