Two women prosecuted for 'torture' with acid and tattoo machine
Ca Mau Provincial Police prosecuted two suspects in the case of a woman who reported being assaulted, forced into a car, and "tortured" with acid and a tattoo machine.
On June 26, regarding the information that a woman reported being arrested, beaten, tattooed, and had acid thrown on her because of jealousy, the Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau Province Police issued a decision to prosecute Nguyen Nhu Y (residing in Nam Can District) and Phan Phuong Thao (residing in Ca Mau City) for the acts of "Intentionally causing injury" and "Illegal detention".
Meanwhile, the victim, Ms. PHM (32 years old, in Ham Rong commune, Nam Can district) was taken for examination and determined to have a disability rate of 8%.

As reported, Ms. M. filed a criminal complaint with the authorities, stating that at around 4:50 p.m. on April 10, while she was driving her motorbike through Nam Can town (Nam Can district), she was suddenly overtaken by Y and Thao, driving a motorbike in the same direction, blocking her way.
There, the two women assaulted and dragged Ms. M. into a waiting car. The victim was tied up with zip ties and continued to be beaten before being taken to a spa.
Upon arriving, Ms. M. was dragged to the back of the house by the two women, who covered her head with a scarf and locked the door. Then, Ms. Thao pushed Ms. M. to the floor and used a tattoo machine to tattoo many marks on her face. The two women also used scissors to cut her hair and poured acid on Ms. M.'s face.
The incident only stopped when Ms. Y's husband came home and discovered his wife was abusing someone else, so he reported it to the local police.
Ms. M. said that she was brutally assaulted because Ms. Y suspected that she had an affair with her husband and was jealous.
