Prosecution of gunman who robbed over 900 million
Police have recovered 710 million VND out of the total 925 million stolen.

According to the investigation, Dung has a wife and children and is the owner of three wood workshops in An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district. Because of business losses and gambling, he came up with the idea of robbing a bank.

Dung went online to buy a gun to commit the crime.
On the afternoon of September 8, Dung wore a hooded sweatshirt, a helmet covering his face, and left home on a motorbike. Initially, Dung went to Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park with the intention of robbing Vietcombank - Bien Hoa branch. However, seeing that the area was quite crowded, Dung did not dare to do so and instead moved towards Tam Phuoc ward and decided to commit the robbery there.
The suspect parked his motorbike about 100m away from Vietcombank - Tam Phuoc Transaction Office and then went into the bank and sat down like a customer. Dung observed for about a minute before taking action.
At this time, the subject came to the counter, pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the air, demanding that the staff take out the money. More than 20 customers panicked and ran outside.
The staff panicked, took the stacks of money and put them on the table. Dung put them in a prepared plastic bag and ran out to escape. Many people and bank security guards ran after him shouting, but because the robber had a gun, no one dared to approach.
According to the police, Dung pretended to be left-handed and limp in his right leg to mislead the investigation.
After the robbery, Dong Nai Provincial Police coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security's professional departments to investigate and prosecute. At 0:25 a.m. on September 11, the police raided Dung's house and arrested the suspect.
From Le Huy Dung's testimony, the police seized many vehicles and related evidence. Initially, it was determined that Dung robbed 925 million VND, but so far the police have recovered 710 million VND.
