Man prosecuted after wife cuts off his genitals.
Nguyen Van Hoan, the stepfather who sexually abused his wife's daughter for many years in Son La, has been arrested.
Nguyen Van Hoan repeatedly raped HTRL (born in 2007), the stepdaughter of Ha Thi N (36 years old, Hoan's wife), between August 26, 2020, and March 19, 2022.

According to the records, around August 2020, due to his desire to have sexual relations with HTRL, Hoan created a Facebook account named "Hoang Long" to chat with and flirt with L online. After several conversations, Hoan asked L to take photos and videos of some sensitive parts of her body to send to the "Hoang Long" account, which Hoan then saved on his phone.
Hoan used his main Facebook account to send sensitive photos and videos to L's Facebook account, threatening to post L's photos and videos on social media to force L to have sex with him.
Fearing that her sensitive images would be leaked on social media, L agreed. From August 26, 2020, to March 19, 2022, Hoan repeatedly used those sensitive videos and photos to coerce L into having sexual relations with him when N was away from home.
Recently, Ms. N had been frequently losing money, so on the morning of March 19, 2022, she installed a camera at the head of her bed. Around 2 PM that same day, Ms. N returned home to retrieve the memory card from the camera and discovered a video showing Hoan engaging in sexual intercourse with her daughter in her bedroom.
Overwhelmed with anger and frustration, on the night of March 19th, Ms. N used a knife to cut off Hoan's genitals before turning herself in to the police. Nguyen Van Hoan was then taken to Son La Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Based on the evidence gathered, the Yen Chau District Police had sufficient grounds to prove Nguyen Van Hoan's criminal behavior. Immediately after the suspect recovered and was discharged from the hospital, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yen Chau District Police executed an arrest warrant against Hoan to be strictly prosecuted in accordance with the law.
