To fund hospitality activities, the Chairman of Ia Rvê commune instructed the accountant to falsify documents and forge the signatures of others in order to embezzle funds intended for forest patrol and protection activities.
On May 31st, information from the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Dak Lak Provincial Police Department indicated that the unit had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Le Van Hoang Lam (born in 1985, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Rve commune, Ea Sup district) and Nguyen Chau Xa (born in 1981, former budget accountant of Ia Rve commune) to investigate their actions of "Abusing their position and authority while performing official duties".

According to the investigation, during his tenure, in order to have money to spend on entertaining guests of the Ia Rvê Commune People's Committee when the commune did not have a legitimate source of funding, Le Van Hoang Lam instructed Nguyen Chau Xa to falsify documents and forge the signatures of people on the patrol list to receive payment for patrol and forest protection work.
These forged documents were used to misappropriate state budget funds allocated for forest protection activities in 2020, 2021, and 2022, totaling 142.5 million VND.
The investigative agency of the Dak Lak Provincial Police is continuing to expand the case, clarifying the responsibilities of the individuals involved in order to strictly handle them in accordance with the law.
