Forest fire brought under control at the summit of Rú Ối mountain, Hoa Quân commune.
According to information from the Hoa Quan Commune People's Committee, at approximately 12:30 PM on August 10th, a forest fire broke out in the Oi hill area of Chi Hong hamlet, Hoa Quan commune (formerly Thanh Chi commune, Thanh Chuong district).
Upon receiving the report, local authorities mobilized over 150 people from various forces, including the Thanh Chuong Forest Management Unit, the commune police, the commune military, the Command Board of Area 5 Anh Son (Thanh Chuong Branch 3), and local residents, to quickly arrive at the scene to organize firefighting efforts. The forces were divided into multiple teams, approaching the fire from different directions to control its spread.
According to Mr. Phan Van Hoang, Head of the Thanh Chuong Forest Ranger Station, the area is mainly covered with dense undergrowth and bushes, the weather is intensely hot, and the terrain is rugged, making firefighting difficult. However, thanks to good coordination, by approximately 5:30 PM on the same day, the fire was basically brought under control.
Authorities are currently remaining at the scene overnight to monitor and handle the embers, preventing the risk of the fire reigniting and spreading to neighboring areas.
