No Vietnamese citizens were affected by the earthquakes in Japan.
To date, there is no information about casualties among Vietnamese citizens in the two recent earthquakes in Japan.

"We sincerely share the immense losses of life and property that the government and people of Japan are continuously suffering from the recent earthquakes," said Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh today. "We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and strongly believe that with their efforts and determination, the government and people of Japan will soon overcome this difficult time and stabilize the situation."
Regarding the issue of Vietnamese citizens being affected by the earthquakes, Mr. Le Hai Binh affirmed that, according to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka, there has been no information to date about Vietnamese citizens being victims of the earthquakes.
Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan are continuing to coordinate with local authorities to monitor the situation and develop plans to provide assistance if any Vietnamese citizens are affected.
Simultaneously, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Japan have opened three hotlines: (+81) 80 3590 9136, (+81) 80 3984 6668, and (+81) 80 3904 0198 to receive information related to the situation of Vietnamese citizens in order to provide timely and urgent support and assistance.
On the evening of April 14th, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Kumamoto City on Kyushu Island, Japan, killing 9 people and injuring over 800. At 1:25 AM local time today, another earthquake, measuring 7.3 magnitude, shook the area. Police reported that the tremor killed at least 19 people and caused extensive damage to buildings and structures.
