On January 28th, Mr. Ha Van Quynh, Deputy Director of Tay Nam Nghe An Hospital, stated that at 11 PM on January 27th, the hospital received a patient with multiple stab wounds on the body, particularly a severed wound on the cheek that resulted in severed facial nerves.
The patient, Nguyen Van Hoang (born in 1975, residing in Thuy Khe village, Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district), was transferred to the Provincial Friendship General Hospital for emergency treatment due to the severity of his injuries.
Ms. Nguyen Cam Le (Mr. Hoang's sister) said that Mr. Hoang worked as a construction worker. In early 2017, Mr. Hoang invited Mr. Vi Van Tinh (born in 1978, residing in Tat village, Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district) to work with him on a construction project. Mr. Tinh's family was in particularly difficult circumstances, and his wife was often ill. However, Mr. Tinh was an alcoholic, and when he drank, he would often cause trouble and verbally abuse those around him.
When the homeowner offered him an advance on his wages, Hoang, having been advised by his family, did not give the money to Tinh for fear that Tinh would spend it all on alcohol. Meanwhile, Tinh's wife was in the hospital.
When Tinh asked for an advance payment, Hoang refused to give it to him. The two argued and fought, during which Tinh used a knife to stab Hoang multiple times in the cheek, neck, and arm. When Hoang tried to run away, Tinh chased after him and stabbed him multiple times in the back and head.
The Con Cuong District Police confirmed the incident and are currently investigating it.
