On January 28, Mr. Ha Van Quynh - Deputy Director of Tay Nam Nghe An Hospital said that at 11 pm on January 27, the hospital received a patient with many cuts on his body, especially a severe cut on his cheek that led to a severed nerve in his face.
The patient's name is Nguyen Van Hoang (born in 1975, residing in Thuy Khe village, Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district). Due to the severity of his injuries, Hoang was transferred to the Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Ms. Nguyen Cam Le (Mr. Hoang's younger sister) said that Mr. Hoang worked as a construction worker. In early 2017, Mr. Hoang invited Mr. Vi Van Tinh (born in 1978, residing in Tat village, Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong) to go build with him. Mr. Tinh's family was in a particularly difficult situation, his wife was often sick. However, Mr. Tinh was an alcoholic, and when he drank, he often caused trouble and cursed at those around him.
When the landlord offered to advance him the salary, but because his family told him not to give the money to Tinh, he was afraid that Tinh would spend it all on drinking. Meanwhile, Tinh's wife was in the hospital.
When Tinh asked for an advance, Hoang refused to give him money. The two argued and fought. Tinh used a knife to slash Hoang many times on the cheek, neck, and arm. When Hoang tried to run away, Tinh chased him and slashed him many times on the back and head.
Con Cuong District Police confirmed the above incident and are in the process of investigating and clarifying.
