(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 10, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held an online meeting with the Standing Committees of the district, city and town Party Committees on the implementation of tasks in 2016 and the deployment of key tasks in the first quarter of 2017.

In 2016, Nghe An completed 25/27 main targets for socio-economic development. The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) reached 7.5%, higher than in recent years and the national average (6.21%). The socio-cultural sector continued to achieve many positive results, national defense and security received attention and direction. In the first quarter of 2017, the Provincial Party Committee set out 10 key tasks, focusing on continuing to promote the implementation of the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2016 - 2020 and Resolution 26 of the Politburo on directions and tasks for Nghe An development until 2020. The province also focused on directing the promotion of production and business development; speeding up the progress of key projects; implementing well the budget revenue and expenditure; improving the investment and business environment, enhancing provincial competitiveness.

In addition, taking care of culture, education, healthcare, ensuring social security; streamlining staff; building a strong national defense... are also the contents focused on in the first months of the year.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that there needs to be strong direction right from the beginning of the year, so that all levels can carry out tasks with good results, achieving the contents set out in the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Party Congress.

Nghe An identified the 2017 focus as having a number of important contents: Actively reforming administration, improving the quality of service of authorities at all levels towards people and businesses; Strengthening discipline and administrative order; Creating conditions to support businesses to do well, create jobs, increase budget revenue; Identifying signs of degradation, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" in the spirit of Resolution 4 of the Central Committee...

He also pointed out that districts and sectors need to implement specifically, each unit should choose 2-3 most prominent aspects to focus on and strive to become the spearhead. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his belief that with the attention of the Central Government, the Party Committee, the government and the people, the province will reap good achievements in 2017.

Concluding the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the efforts of localities in 2016, which achieved many positive results. In the fourth quarter, sectors and localities were active in all aspects of work, and year-end tasks were generally implemented effectively.

Regarding the construction of new rural areas (NTM), compared to the target of 30 more communes meeting the standards, Nghe An has had 152 communes recognized as NTM communes, meaning that in 2016, 43 communes were reached. Considering this a commendable number, the Provincial Party Secretary commented further: "In the context of not placing too much emphasis on targets, I think this is a fundamental effort of the localities."

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh also emphasized the volume and nature of work and tasks in early 2017, noting that based on the identified limitations and difficulties, all levels, sectors, districts, cities and towns need to study and propose solutions to effectively overcome them in 2017.

"This is the second year of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels. Units must review projects and action programs to see if there was anything missed in 2016 or anything that was not implemented effectively in order to focus more in 2017," the Provincial Party Secretary directed.

He also urged the delegates attending the meeting not to waste time visiting superiors and congratulating each other during Tet, but instead to spend time performing their tasks well, actively visiting and encouraging soldiers, poor people, and families with meritorious services.
