Don't waste time visiting and offering New Year's greetings to superiors.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 10th, under the chairmanship of Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held an online meeting with the Standing Committees of the district, city, and town Party Committees on the situation of task implementation in 2016 and the deployment of key tasks in the first quarter of 2017.

Attending the meeting were: Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of party building committees; and provincial departments and agencies.

In 2016, Nghe An province completed 25 out of 27 key socio-economic development targets. The province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate reached 7.5%, higher than in recent years and the national average (6.21%). The socio-cultural sector continued to achieve many positive results, and national defense and security received focused leadership and guidance. Significant achievements were also made in Party building and the construction of the political system.

In the first quarter of 2017, the Provincial Party Committee set out 10 key tasks, focusing on continuing to promote the implementation of the Resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels, the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2016-2020, and Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An until 2020. The province also focused on directing the promotion of production and business development; accelerating the progress of key projects; effectively managing budget revenue and expenditure; improving the investment and business environment; and enhancing provincial competitiveness.

In addition, focusing on culture, education, healthcare, ensuring social security; streamlining personnel; and building a strong national defense... are also key areas of focus in the first few months of the year.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - affirmed that decisive direction is needed from the very beginning of the year so that all levels can perform their tasks well and achieve the goals set out in the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Party Congress.

Nghe An province has identified several key priorities for 2017: Actively reforming administrative procedures and improving the quality of service provided by all levels of government to the people and businesses; Strengthening administrative discipline and order; Creating favorable conditions to support businesses in operating successfully, creating jobs, and increasing budget revenue; Identifying manifestations of degradation, "self-evolution," and "self-transformation" in accordance with the spirit of Central Resolution 4…

The comrade also pointed out that districts and sectors need to implement specific measures, with each unit selecting 2-3 of the most outstanding aspects to focus on and strive to become a leading force. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed confidence that, with the attention of the Central Government, the Party Committee, the government, and the people, the province will achieve great successes in 2017.

Concluding the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the efforts of localities in 2016, which yielded many positive results. In the fourth quarter, all sectors and localities were active in all aspects of work, and the year-end tasks were generally implemented effectively.

Regarding the New Rural Development program, compared to the target of having 30 more communes meet the standards, Nghe An province now has 152 communes recognized as New Rural Development communes, meaning 43 communes achieved the goal in 2016. Considering this a commendable figure, the Provincial Party Secretary further commented: "In a context where targets are not being emphasized, I believe this is a well-founded effort by the localities."

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh also emphasized the volume and nature of the work and tasks at the beginning of 2017, noting that based on the identified limitations and difficulties, all levels, sectors, districts, cities, and towns need to study and propose solutions to effectively overcome them in 2017.

"This is the second year of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels. Units must review their projects and action programs, see if anything was overlooked in 2016, and identify areas where implementation was ineffective, so that they can focus more on those areas in 2017," the Provincial Party Secretary instructed.

The comrade also instructed the delegates attending the meeting not to waste time visiting superiors and exchanging New Year greetings, but instead to dedicate time to effectively carrying out their duties, actively visiting and encouraging soldiers, poor people, and families entitled to preferential policies…
