Launched in Vietnam in October 2021, the KIA Sonet underwent a mid-cycle refresh in June 2024, bringing about many changes in design and equipment. The car has overall dimensions (length x width x height) of 4,120 x 1,790 x 1,642 mm and a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.
The front of the car is distinguished by KIA's signature tiger-nose grille, stylized with a wave-like pattern and extending horizontally. The front lighting system is inspired by constellations (Star-map), with LED headlights consisting of three separate bulbs, integrated with the LED fog lights. The front bumper is sculpted with prominent lines, combined with silver-painted bumper trim.
Viewed from the side, the 2025 Sonet displays the silhouette of an SUV with high wheel arches. It is equipped with 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The Luxury and Premium versions use disc brakes for both front and rear wheels. The rearview mirrors integrate power adjustment/folding and turn signal indicators.
At the rear, the seamlessly integrated LED taillights create a premium feel. The large rear bumper is painted silver and features an additional black plastic panel, adding to the overall robust appearance of the vehicle.
Interior features, amenities, and technology.
The interior space of the 2025 KIA Sonet is considered quite spacious for its segment. The cockpit design is sporty, featuring a leather-wrapped D-Cut three-spoke steering wheel with red stitching for added emphasis.
Behind the steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch information display. The central infotainment screen measures 8 inches on the Deluxe and Luxury models, while the Premium model features a 10.25-inch screen. Both support wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.
All seats are upholstered in leather. In the Premium version, the driver's seat is power adjustable. The rear seats can be reclined or folded down in a 60:40 ratio to increase cargo space. Other notable amenities include automatic climate control, Qi wireless charging, a power sunroof (Premium version), a 6-speaker sound system, and remote start.
Engine and safety features
All versions of the 2025 KIA Sonet in Vietnam use a 1.5L Smartstream gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 113 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm. This power is transmitted to the front wheels via a CVT automatic transmission. Luxury and Premium versions also offer three driving modes (Normal/Eco/Sport).
In terms of safety, the 2025 Sonet comes standard with anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-start assist. Higher trim levels add front parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring systems, and cruise control. The Premium version is the only one with six airbags, while the other versions have two airbags.
