Check and handle farm vehicles, homemade 3-4 wheeled vehicles

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 10, the Traffic Safety Committee of Quynh Luu district held a conference to deploy the inspection and handling of farm vehicles and homemade 3-4-wheeled motor vehicles.

Implementing Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP dated June 29, 2007 of the Government on a number of urgent solutions to control traffic accidents and congestion; Decisions on supporting the replacement and cancellation of farm vehicles and homemade 3- and 4-wheeled motor vehicles, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district has issued many official dispatches directing the People's Committees of communes and towns to issue applications for vehicle owners to declare and provide related documents.

In Article 1 of Decision 78 of the Government: the supported subjects are owners of farm vehicles, 3-wheeled and 4-wheeled self-made motor vehicles built before December 31, 2007 to October 6, 2008, who will be supported with 5 million VND/vehicle for replacement and 9 million VND/truck for replacement.

At that time, Quynh Luu district had 2,664 agricultural vehicles of all kinds approved by the Provincial People's Committee for support with a total amount of 15 billion 273 million VND. This amount was paid to vehicle owners in 2010. However, up to this point, through the review, the whole district currently has 479 agricultural vehicles, 3-wheeled and 4-wheeled self-made vehicles in operation, of which 254 vehicles have received support money according to regulations but have not been destroyed and 225 vehicles have been purchased new.

To completely handle the situation of farm vehicles and homemade 3- and 4-wheeled vehicles still operating in the areas, the Traffic Safety Committee of Quynh Luu district urges communes and towns to propagate and remind vehicle owners to comply with the law. Organize signing of commitments, establish delegations to visit households with vehicles to mobilize for their cancellation. Assign direct responsibility to local Party committees and authorities to mobilize the entire political system to seriously implement the Government's policy on canceling farm vehicles and homemade 3- and 4-wheeled vehicles.

Quynh Luu District Police continue to strengthen inspection and control on roads to detect, seize and strictly handle vehicle owners who intentionally violate the law. Thereby, minimizing traffic congestion and accidents./.
