In February 2017, the departments within the bloc coordinated and successfully implemented their respective tasks. This included focusing on ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday of 2017 and carrying out the tasks for the year 2017.
Authorities launched intensive campaigns to crack down on crime, arresting and prosecuting numerous criminal rings involved in drug trafficking and illegal fireworks, as well as addressing various offenses related to smuggling, commercial fraud, food safety and hygiene, and violations related to forest product management.
Authorities detected and apprehended 247 cases involving 275 individuals committing economic and environmental crimes and violations (a decrease of 90 cases and 112 individuals compared to the previous month), seizing 30.4 kg of explosives, 424.2 kg of fireworks, 8 cubic meters of various types of wood, and numerous smuggled goods worth approximately 500 million VND.
The investigation, prosecution, trial, and enforcement of civil judgments are carried out with quality, ensuring that the right person is charged with the right crime and in accordance with the law. Inspection and auditing work is implemented comprehensively, promptly identifying and recommending solutions; fire prevention and control are implemented promptly; and judicial work is carried out effectively.

However, the security situation remains complex, with incidents such as: related to the environmental pollution incident in the central coastal region caused by Hung Nghiep Formosa Co., Ltd., some extremist religious figures in the area directed and incited parishioners to march to Ky Anh, Ha Tinh to file lawsuits, causing disruption to security and order in the area.
Traffic accidents and social vices increased compared to the previous month; illegal trading, commercial fraud, smuggling, counterfeit goods, violations related to food safety and hygiene, storage, trading and burning of firecrackers still occur in many places; illegal migration activities of the Hmong people; the situation of women marrying foreigners illegally is on the rise in mountainous districts...
The key tasks for March 2017 were for the agencies within the Internal Affairs bloc to focus on coordinating and implementing various measures to ensure political security, social order and safety, and fire prevention, preventing any unexpected or passive situations from occurring; and to promptly detect and strictly handle, in accordance with the law, any subversive elements.
At the same time, effectively implement inspection work and resolve complaints and denunciations, especially cases involving large numbers of people; strengthen the enforcement of civil judgments and the fight against smuggling and commercial fraud.
