According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on September 6, Kim Jong-un also had a "frank" discussion with the delegation on issues related to improving relations between the two Koreas and ensuring lasting peace and stability on the peninsula.

KCNA asserted, “It is our firm position and our will to completely remove the threat of armed conflict and the fear of war from the Korean Peninsula and transform it into a cradle of peace, free from nuclear weapons and nuclear threats,” he stated. “North Korea and South Korea should strengthen efforts to achieve the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”

"He also had a frank discussion with the delegation about many issues arising in the process of accelerating the development of North-South relations as well as safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula," the news agency added.

KCNA claimed that Kim Jong-un and South Korean officials exchanged views on plans to hold a third summit between the North Korean leader and South Korean President Moon Jae-in this month, but the agency did not disclose a specific date or time.

A five-member delegation led by Chung Eui-yong, head of the South Korean President's National Security Office, made a one-day visit to Pyongyang on September 5 to arrange the planned summit and discuss inter-Korean relations.
