On the morning of October 31st, at a location approximately 1.5 nautical miles southeast of buoy number 0 (Cua Hoi area, Cua Lo town), the Coast Guard patrol boat 608 of Squadron 102, Command of Coast Guard Region 1, in coordination with the Cua Hoi Border Guard Station, Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Post, Nghe An Border Guard Command, detected a small fishing boat.fishermen in distressDrifting in rough seas with waves reaching level 5-6, the fishermen on the boat sent out a distress signal.

Boat 608 quickly carried out a mobile rescue mission, approaching to assist the fishermen. The victims were quickly transferred from the small boat to Boat 608 for care and health checks.

The cause has been identified as a sudden strong gust of wind during fishing in the aforementioned area, which caused the fisherman's boat to malfunction, posing a high safety risk and prompting him to send out a distress signal. The fisherman involved is Nguyen Huu Truong (born in 1974), from Nghi Hoa ward, Cua Lo town (Nghe An province), whose health is now gradually stabilizing.

Immediately after docking, the CSB 608 vessel of Squadron 102 coordinated with and handed over the victims to the Cua Hoi Border Guard Control Station and the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Post to complete the necessary procedures for them to return to their families.
