Timely extinguishing of forest fire in the border area of Do Luong and Yen Thanh
(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon (August 24), a forest fire broke out in the border area between Thuong Son commune (Do Luong) and Cong Thanh commune (Yen Thanh).
According to information received, the fire broke out at around 12 noon in the border area of Thuong Son commune (Do Luong) and Cong Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), mainly burning the acacia forest cover.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Vice Chairman of the districtYen Thanhsaid: Upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district directly directed the mobilization of forest rangers, protective forest management board, police, army, militia and self-defense forces of the three communes of Cong Thanh, My Thanh, Bao Thanh (no mobilization of people to put out the fire because the district is in a period of social isolation throughout the district). The forces used available means such as blowers, fire extinguishers, and machetes to participate in fighting the forest fire.
Due to hot weather, strong winds and rugged terrain, fire fighting was difficult. However, with close coordination between local forces of Yen Thanh and Thuong Son commune, districtDollarSo after about 3 hours of actively fighting the fire, the fire was extinguished.
Currently, the Forest Protection Department of Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts are keeping watch over the ashes in the burned area to prevent forest fires from breaking out.
The cause of the fire and the extent of forest damage are being investigated by authorities.
