According to the information received, the fire broke out at around 12 PM in the area bordering Thuong Son commune (Do Luong district) and Cong Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district), mainly burning undergrowth in acacia and eucalyptus forests.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Vice Chairman of the DistrictYen ThanhAccording to reports: Upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district directly directed the mobilization of forest rangers, the Management Board of Protective Forests, police, soldiers, and militia forces from the three communes of Cong Thanh, My Thanh, and Bao Thanh (no local people were mobilized to extinguish the fire because the district was under social distancing measures). The forces used available equipment such as blowers, fire beaters, and machetes to fight the forest fire.
Due to the hot weather, strong winds, and rugged terrain, firefighting efforts faced many difficulties. However, with the close coordination of local forces from Yen Thanh district and Thuong Son commune, the district authorities overcame these challenges.Do LuongTherefore, after more than 3 hours of intensive firefighting, the fire was extinguished.
Currently, the Forest Protection Force of Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts is guarding the ashes at the fire site to prevent forest fires from reigniting.
