Timely removal of obstacles and difficulties for cooperatives and craft villages.

According to the report of the Provincial Cooperative Union: In 2018, the activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union were innovative and focused on the grassroots level, so the cooperative economy, cooperatives, and craft villages continued to achieve many important results.

The province saw the establishment of 67 new cooperatives, bringing the total number of cooperatives to 699; along with 270 cooperative groups and 157 craft villages. Of these, 44.7% of cooperatives are operating effectively. Total revenue from the cooperative sector in 2018 reached 1,500 billion VND, an increase of 355 billion VND compared to 2017.

Many cooperatives have proactively leveraged their internal resources, forming joint ventures and partnerships with organizations and individuals to expand production and business, invest in technological innovation in goods production, and gradually access markets within and outside the province. Cooperative unions have played a key role in acting as intermediaries for the distribution of products from cooperative groups, cooperatives, and craft villages in Nghe An province.

At the conference, delegates discussed and agreed on targets, tasks, and solutions to improve the effectiveness of the cooperative economic sector, cooperatives, and craft villages in 2019. They also shared experiences and proposed solutions to the difficulties and obstacles faced by cooperatives and craft villages.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - acknowledged the achievements of the Provincial Cooperative Union in developing the network of cooperatives and craft villages over the past year, as well as the contributions of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and craft villages to the socio-economic development of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Cooperative Alliance, cooperatives, and craft villages strengthen propaganda efforts regarding the role, position, and importance of cooperatives in the new context. They should improve the quality of consulting services for cooperatives and craft villages in transforming their operational, production, and business models, focusing on building and replicating new cooperative models that effectively promote livelihoods, create jobs, and increase income for the people.

Focus on directing districts, cities, and towns to complete the establishment of new cooperatives and build new-style cooperative models that are efficient in production and business according to registration. Complete the dissolution of weak cooperatives, and transform or dissolve cooperatives that are not operating in accordance with the provisions of the 2012 Cooperative Law.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 collectives and 15 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Recognition to 5 craft villages and Certificates of Recognition to 1 artisan.
