Timely remove obstacles and difficulties for cooperatives and craft villages

The report of the Provincial Cooperative Union shows that: In 2018, the activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union had many innovations and creativity, focusing on the grassroots level, so the cooperative economy, cooperatives and craft villages continued to achieve many important results.

The province has 67 newly established cooperatives, bringing the total number of cooperatives in the province to 699 cooperatives; 270 cooperative groups and 157 craft villages. Of which, 44.7% of cooperatives operate effectively. Total revenue of the cooperative sector in 2018 reached 1,500 billion VND, an increase of 355 billion VND compared to 2017.

Many cooperatives have proactively promoted their internal resources, joint ventures, and associations with organizations and individuals to expand production, business, invest in innovation in commodity production technology, and gradually approach domestic and foreign markets. Cooperative Unions have promoted their role in acting as a focal point for product consumption for cooperatives, cooperatives, and craft villages in Nghe An province.

At the conference, delegates discussed and agreed on targets, tasks and solutions to improve the operational efficiency of the cooperative economic sector, cooperatives and craft villages in 2019. At the same time, they shared experiences and proposed difficulties and problems of cooperatives and craft villages.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the achievements of the Provincial Cooperative Union in developing the network of cooperatives and craft villages in the past year, as well as the contributions of cooperatives, cooperative groups and craft villages to the socio-economic development of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested: The Cooperative Union, cooperatives and craft villages should step up propaganda work on the role, position and importance of cooperatives in the new conditions. Improve the quality of consultancy for cooperatives and craft villages in transforming their operating, production and business models towards building and replicating new cooperative models, cooperative models that promote livelihood efficiency, create jobs and increase income for people.

Focus on directing districts, cities and towns to complete the establishment of new cooperatives, build new cooperative models for effective production and business according to registration. Complete the dissolution of weak cooperatives, convert or dissolve cooperatives that do not operate in accordance with the provisions of the 2012 Law on Cooperatives.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 collectives and 15 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Recognition to 5 craft villages and a Certificate to 1 artisan./.
