Representatives of Miss Ky Duyen have confirmed that she will not be attending the Miss Vietnam 2016 final on August 28th. They declined to comment or share any further information.

Previously, on August 5th, the Miss Vietnam pageant organizers issued a statement concluding their investigation into Ky Duyen's smoking scandal. After considering the severity of the violation and Ky Duyen's sincere apology to the public, the Council officially reprimanded the 2014 Miss Vietnam for her negative behavior and requested that she correct her lifestyle and actively improve her image in the eyes of the public. Furthermore, the Council recommended that the Miss Vietnam 2016 organizers not use Ky Duyen's image and not allow her to participate in any future events of the competition.

The organizers of Miss Vietnam 2016 expressed their agreement with the Council's recommendation and stopped using Ky Duyen's image in the competition. The organizers also did not invite Ky Duyen to accompany them to the final round of the competition, which took place from August 11th to August 28th in Ho Chi Minh City; instead, they chose runner-up Huyen My.

In the latest press conference, the organizers announced that Ky Duyen may attend the 15th Miss Vietnam final as a spectator.

The Miss Vietnam 2016 final will take place at 6 PM on Sunday, August 28th, at the Phu Tho Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City. Thirty contestants will compete, after six girls were eliminated or withdrew due to violations of the competition rules. Former Miss Vietnam winners Nguyen Thi Huyen, Mai Phuong Thuy, Thuy Dung, Ngoc Han, Dang Thu Thao, and the runners-up will be present at the event.
