Strange: Monkey-headed dog has a trunk

A newborn puppy with a very strange shape has just appeared on the Facebook page of author Mèo Hoàng (Hương rung Tây Bắc) attracting thousands of visitors and comments. The puppy's head looks quite similar to that of a baby elephant.

Through the investigation of Dan Viet reporter, it is known that the owner of this strange dog is Mr. Duong Van Quan (in Sub-zone 1, Muong La Town, Muong La District, Son La Province).

Mr. Quan said: “This mother dog is a normal dog, not a German Shepherd. I have raised dogs for decades but have never seen her give birth to such a strange puppy.”

Judging by the strange shape of the newborn dog, the dog's head looked like a monkey's, with a trunk like an elephant's in the middle of its forehead. Two eyes grew right under that trunk, its ears were small and its mouth always had its tongue sticking out.

Mr. Quan added: “This morning (July 13), my female dog gave birth to 5 puppies, one of which looked very unusual. I have raised the mother dog for many years now, it is a local dog breed, weighing less than 20kg and when mated it was also a local dog breed. Every day, I feed the dog normally. I don’t understand why it gave birth to such a strange puppy. Compared to the other puppies in the litter, this strange dog is not much bigger…”.

The mother dog and four other puppies were born in the same litter as the strange dog.

“When the news was heard, many neighbors came to see and were talking excitedly. Some said this dog had a head like a rhinoceros, others said it looked like a baby elephant because of its trunk...” - Mr. Quan shared.
